What is Breath Work?

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

The practice of breath work is rooted in the understanding that our breathing patterns are intimately connected to our emotions, thoughts, and overall health. By deliberately altering our breath, we can influence our nervous system, induce relaxation, reduce stress, and explore and process unresolved emotional experiences.

Breath-work in psychotherapy can help individuals access deeper levels of self-awareness, process trauma, reduce anxiety, increase vitality, and promote overall well-being. It is often used in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities and may be tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of the client.
